Austin, TX - The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for parts of Travis County, Texas, until 7:00 PM CDT. The affected areas include the cities of Austin, Pflugerville, and Round Rock. Residents in these areas are advised to take shelter immediately.
The National Weather Service says that a tornado is radar-indicated and moving northeast at 60 mph. It is located about 10 miles east of Austin and 5 miles west of Round Rock.
Residents in the affected areas should take the following precautions:
- Move to a basement or interior room on the lowest level of your home.
- Avoid windows and exterior walls.
- If you are in a vehicle, pull over to the side of the road and get under an overpass or bridge.
- If you are caught outdoors, seek shelter in a ditch or low-lying area.
